A variety of Forest Road PTO fundraisers are held throughout the year to support student programs and activities and other school projects. For further information on any of the programs, contact us or contact one of the committee chairs from the officers’ page.
Boosterthon is our biggest fundraiser and is held in October. It kicks off with an all-school pep rally and culminates with a fun run. Because of Boosterthon, the PTO has been able to fund adaptive seating for every classroom teacher, a 40-foot climbing wall in the gym, and a Gaga Ball pit on the playground.
The PTO holds this annual fundraiser over the third weekend in October. This event is a great opportunity for community members to sell their unwanted toys to new families who will enjoy them. This green fundraiser allows sellers to keep 60% of the selling price while 40% gets donated to the PTO. At the discretion of the sellers, unsold toys are donated to district classrooms and local nonprofits.
This fundraiser is held in cooperation with all the District 102 schools in order to encourage physical fitness, build district spirit, and raise funds for participating schools. Forest Road will be the host school for the 2019 and 2020 District Runs. For more information, please click on the following link: Run for District 102 5K and Fun Run
If you’re planning to go out to eat with your family during the school year, then restaurant fundraising is an easy fundraiser for you to support. The PTO partners with a different local restaurant every month. Families dine in or carry out their food and Forest Road earns a percentage from all sales.
Round up a table of 10-12 friends, fill your coolers (beer, wine and food permitted,) and come out for a night of fun and friendly competition at the Community Center of La Grange Park. Trivia Night is a great opportunity to meet other parents and members of the community. Watch out for the sign up email in the fall to buy your tickets.
Flying High Fun Nights are a great way for kids to burn off some energy while raising funds for the PTO. Drop off your kids at Flying High from 7-10pm, and they can run, jump, tumble, and eat some pizza with their friends while you get an evening off. The PTO gets back a large percentage of the money raised for Forest Road.
Clip unexpired Box Tops from a variety of General Mills products and send them into school with your student. The school gets sent money for each box top we collect! In 2019, Box Tops will start going digital, so watch out for more information on how to download the new Box Top App!
Through our major fundraiser each fall, the Forest Road PTO is able to generate the money needed to support all of our programs, events and school support. Look below to learn more about each of the PTO-sponsored items and what percent of the budget is allocated to that area.
